DELTA COMMUNITY LIVING FOUNDATION
The Foundation was established for the purposes of promoting and encouraging the
establishment or development of programs, endeavours or activities for persons with
a developmental disability and thus assist such persons to fully participate as
valued members of their community. The purposes of the Foundation are:
- Raise funds to enable the Society to carry out the purposes of the Society.
- To accept and receive such gifts, grants, donations, legacies, bequests, memorial
funds, endowments and similar gratuitous dispositions of money and of personal
and real property from all sources including corporations and other charitable
organizations and other funds as may be deemed appropriate for use in carrying
out the purposes of the Society.
- To hold and keep invested the money proceeds of the aforesaid gifts and other
dispositions from time to time.
- To make gifts to charitable organizations in the Municipality of Delta, who
support persons with a developmental disability and thereby assist them to defray
the costs of their programs, of equipment purchases, of physical facility development,
and of initiatives to promote and support community awareness of the special needs
of persons with an developmental disability.
- To establish trusts that provide a secure means for families to make provision
for the future financial well being of a member of their family who is developmentally
disabled.
- To establish a capital fund for the purposes of developing community living
options that provide opportunities for persons with a developmental disability
to fully participate in their communities.
- To engage in activities which will be of benefit to a person with an developmental
disability.
