Every DCLS employee and DCLS Home Sharing Provider must be trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (MANDT). This training provides staff with effective techniques for approaching an agitated person and helping reduce their tension, presenting alternatives to people when they lose control and/or become violent, help maintain the best possible professional attitude during interventions and physical intervention skills to help maintain the welfare and safety for all involved.

• Recertification is annually
• Mandatory pre-reading (manual available at the Resource Centre)
