The Studio 19 Art Program provides the people supported by DCLS with an opportunity to express their artistic talents through various medium. The program provides an exploration of a wide variety of local and international artists, different artistic media and themes that are relevant to the time of year. The program is offered on Wednesdays and Fridays at a studio in the DCLS Tsawwassen Connections site.
Curriculum for this program is continually updated with input from the people served and their families. Some recent activities include:
- Collaborative collage projects (mixed media, team-building)
- Watercolour media study (paint, examining technique and variety of output)
- Greeting cards for various holidays and special occasions
- A study of BC coastal native art, including totems (discovery of local totems, painting large-format two-dimensional totems in studio)
